NEW PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION
In its first phase, GOMEZ VALLEJO is promoting sustainability with the installation of a photovoltaic plant at its Special Sand Treatment Plant in Segovia.
In its Environmental Responsibility Objective, Gómez Vallejo SA wants to announce the recent installation of a Photovoltaic Power Plant in its Special Sand Treatment Plant
of Segovia, which represents a significant milestone on its path towards Sustainability.
The project's objective is to increase energy efficiency and utilize renewable energy sources—solar energy—as a complement to the electricity currently used.
The plant has a surface area of 640 m2, composed of 244 photovoltaic panels, and a power of 550 Wp, which demonstrates GOMEZ VALLEJO's commitment to the adoption of clean and renewable energy solutions.
With an installed capacity of 134.20 kWp and an estimated annual production of 185 MWh, this plant plays a key role in reducing the environmental impact associated with the company's energy consumption.
In this regard, Gomez Vallejo stated that he is investing in solar energy with the goal of "reducing costs and CO2 emissions."
The data we are handling shows that if we achieve a 20% efficiency reduction in energy costs, we would be meeting the objective of the First Investment Phase.
The photovoltaic plant covers 20% of the Operations' annual energy needs.
In addition, the photovoltaic plant prevents the emission of 50 tons of CO2 per year, strengthening GOMEZ VALLEJO's commitment to mitigating the impacts of climate change and preserving the environment.
AWARD OF ASBESTOS REMOVAL GRANT
As part of Gómez Vallejo's environmental policy, more than 1,100 m2 of asbestos-containing fiber cement has been removed from our facilities. As part of this project, we have been awarded an asbestos removal grant from the Castile and León Regional Government.
AWARD OF ASBESTOS REMOVAL GRANT - YEAR 2024
As part of Gómez Vallejo SA's Environmental Policy, and in Phase III, we continue to remove fiber cement roofs containing asbestos.
The goal is to continue improving our roofs thermally and acoustically, replacing them with galvanized sheet metal, pipes, and downpipes, so that, in the near future, these new surfaces can be used for solar collection and so that all the investment in Clean Energy can be converted into real opportunities, contributing to a safer workplace for all our workers and contractors.
The Castile and León Regional Government, on this occasion, and as part of its support for the safe removal and replacement of roofs containing asbestos materials, has awarded us a grant for this project, enabling us to remove more than 1,600 m2.
